It's been a while, but I have to post this to the blog. It is a beautiful true story. While chatting to one of my friends, a true raconteur, on Facebook, we discussed my potbelly pig and how well we understood each other. Then he shared this beautiful true story with me that I am about to share with you now, in his exact words:

Friend: you know
Friend: down the road from my gf was a goat
Friend: and i used to walk past the goat, she was lovely
Friend: and she loved to eat flowers
Friend: and one day i bought flowers for the goat and i fed them to her through the fence
Friend: she ate them all, delicious
Friend: and then my gf pointed out that I had never bought her flowers
Friend: i buy flowers for a goat, but never for her

Me: man now that is hilarious
Me: is that a true story

Friend: 100% true

Me: is the goat still there?

Friend: no, that sweet goat is no longer there
Friend: i still look for her
Friend: she was so cool, she loved me
Friend: i brought her flowers to eat :-D :-D

Me: this is the best story i have heard in a long time

Friend: happy to be of story telling service!
Friend: from one raconteur to another

I'm done with my fourth lesson as a student pilot in Flight Simulator X and well on my way to earning my private pilot's license. I hope to do it in the real world quite soon, but for now, FSX will have to do.

It's hard to believe we are already in the 3rd month of 2008! Time flies, even when you're not having fun.

I finished my first full CD mix early in January, with 62 tracks in total. I call it: "DJ F - Covering The 80s". I still need to finish the cover and track listing, but that should be done this week. If you want a copy, let me know and I will slip one in the post for you! I'm not too proud about this CD, although I am quite satisfied with the mastering and transitions, I feel this mix lacks a lot of energy and it is boring to say the least. I guess that's the result of choosing tracks to fit the theme - cover versions of songs from the 80s.

I have learned a lot last year while mixing, and the last Jacquelines tribute party inspired me to do a hi-nrg mix this year. This time only the original and best hi-nrg tracks from the 80s will be used. Rare club and extended 12" versions! I'll be taking you back, way back, back in time to get you on your dancing feet again!

To make a long story short, I had a great weekend!

A meal is not well prepared if you cannot eat everything on the plate. For years and years people have prepared meals only halfway! And still, they go on doing it the same old way. I am specifically referring to meals/stews containing bones - lamb chops, t-bone etc. Unless you are a dog, you were not meant to eat bones! So why should bones be served? It should not be served!

If you ever cook a meal, prepare it all the way, by cutting out the bones, and while you're at it - any excessive fat. And only then can it be served. Ok, so the bones add more flavour to the meal. That's fine, I'm not saying the bones should be removed before it is cooked, but only before it is served. A fully prepared meal is a royal treat which can be enjoyed all the way to the end! No frustrating bone-removal processes to interrupt the feast.

Well it has been a while since I made a mix. The last one was Whip Mix. After that I've decided to leave the DJing to those who can. I'm referring of course to Luc Rigaux, the United Audio Team, DJ Pool, DJ Deep, Studio 33, DJ Esanto etc. It takes a lot to make it sound just right.

But after listening to all 3 episodes of Poolmix 80s... I have decided that... DJ F is back in the house!!! For the biggest one so far, a full CD mix.

It takes time and I wish I had more time to spend on this. I have learned a lot so far. Levelizing is not the same as Normalizing and don't confuse the two. Megamixers.com offers a nice little tutorial which helped me to master beatmapping in ACID. That's all for now.

Lasers are one of the coolest inventions ever. Few things are as magical as a solid visible beam of millions and millions of photons. Wicked lasers is your one stop source for high powered handheld lasers.

If you are more of a hobbyist or DIY enthusiast, you can always convert your DVD or even Blu-ray writer into a powerful laser pointer as I have described here. Note that the lasers in CD writers are infrared and thus not visible to the human eye.
